Montanelli Family Commemoration for Murdered Heir

Last weekend on Manhatten Island, Salvatore Montanelli, head of the powerful Montanelli Family, held probably the most expensive party yet seen in New York in honour of his son, Giovanni Montanelli. In an impassioned speech to the assembled guests, Montanelli Senior railed against the NYPD's inability to make any arrests and made a vow to bring down his son's killer himself.

Two years ago, Giovanni, the original heir to the family businesses and significant New York properties, was gruesomely murdered. His body was apparently found with the skin and muscle carved off into inch-wide strips all over his own living room floor. His girlfriend, Erin LaBranche, has been missing ever since. Her blood was found at the scene, as well as that of another, unidentified female, but forensics were unable to tell whether either woman was a fellow victim or the perpetrator.

Given that the Montanellis are rumored to be among the Mafia's leading families, it is undeniable that they have the resources to bring to bear on the problem. The question will be what constitutes justice for a grieving father with this much power.
