Murawai Beach has been closed to swimmers due to shark warnings. Swimmer Harold Jenkins is recovering in Waitakere hospital after losing his right leg to a shark attack. Warning signs are being placed on the beach. Surf Life Saving NZ are looking at increasing patrols at the other western beaches and requesting donations and volunteers from the public.
